Hoi Tin is our go-to Cantonese restaurant in Amsterdam.
Some of our favorites:
Appetizer:
Siu Kau soup
Or you can order dimsum; siu mai, cha siu bao’s, rettich with XO sauce, duck pancake
Vegetables:
Kai Lan, Kangkung, or Choi Sam served with garlic sauce
Meat:
- Combination of cha sieuw (BBQ pork), crispy pork and roasted Peking duck
- Fried pork cake with salted fish and shrimps
- Stuffed eggplant (order the big portion from the main menu instead of the dimsum menu, because the sauce is different)
- Teppan plate with beef
Noodles:
- Ifu mie (crispy egg noodles) served with (mixed) meat and sauce
- Kwetiaw (stir fried rice noodles with beef)
Drinks: order the home made ice tea or a pot of Chinese jasmine tea
Dessert: we love to order Ma lai ko (steamed sponge cake)
While you’re there, don’t forget to check out Hoi Tin Bakery:
If you’re lucky, there still might be some buns or cakes left in the bakery but they’re sold out fast. For the bakery, it’s best to come early or order by phone 1 day before. Our faves: steamed fluffy sponge cake, cha sieuw bun, egg tart
