It is goodbye Tokyo and of to Fujikawaguchiko. Left my hotel around 9 o’clock. Walked to the Tokyo Station. It’s about a 20 minute walk. I left early so you think it would be a little bit cooler. But that’s not true. It was already around 28 degrees. Arrived at the station I had to find Yeasu South Exit. You think the bus stop would also be in English but thats not the case. I had to ask someone which stop I had to take. With very poor English I understand that I had to take bus stop 5. Double check by the bus driver and confirmed it was the right bus. From Tokyo Station to Kawaguchiko Station it is a 2 hours drive. From there it is also a 20 minute walk to my hotel “Tokyo Inn”. Arrived at the hotel I figured out they also have a shuttle bus service so I didn’t need to walk all the way with my suitcase.
The surroundings are very beautiful. Lake Kawaguchiko is very peaceful, well maybe I was lucky that there weren’t al lot of people ;). You can do some water-activities but mostly you can rent a swan pedal boat buy I did not do that. Instead I went sightseeing on a boat. That took just 20 minutes. After that I walked around the lake and saw Mount Fuji. The best view I had was at sunset! There were almost no clouds. It is a rare site to see Mount Fuji, most of the time it is not visible. This year I was lucky and I’m at the right season this time.
Also when the sky is clear and Mt. Fuji is very visible you can walk to the Kawaguchiko-Ohashi Bridge. From there it is a good spot to take pictures or film the area.
I didn’t know that there was also the Mountain Opening Festival Fireworks Display. At the time that the firework show started I was at the restaurant eating. I did saw the last part of the show but unfortunately not by the lake side.
Near my hotel I discovered a viewing spot. I had to walk 20 minutes and climb some stairs. Not many people were doing it at that time I was the only crazy one who took a dare in 34 degrees. But it was worth it. On the top you have a spectacular view of Lake Kawaguchi. I sat there for a while just enjoying the view and the sounds of nature.
Walking around I saw also a few little temples. Just random between a store or at a parking spot.
So from the sounds of nature I will be going back to the city sounds. At first I was going to Nikko but I am thinking to go there in August it will be more in line when I will travel up north. But for now I am going to Yokohama.
Bye for now! Till next time in Yokohama 😀
